Topic: OBEY BEFORE COMPLAIN
Biblical Text: “ And he prayed unto the Lord and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I know that thou art a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness and repentest thee of the evil” . [Jonah 4:2]
Obey before complaining is mostly used in the military, it means when a superior gives you an order, it must be obeyed immediately without questioning; there is no room for complaining when executing an assignment of a superior officer. This applies also in the kingdom, God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, to warn them to turn from their wicked ways. Jonah refused and headed to Tarshish. It was a fatal mistake; he almost paid with his life. He thought his complain was valid and he disobeyed the instruction of the Master. When God gives a command, he is not subjecting it to debate or questioning; He wants the orders carried out immediately. No debate! God told Ananias to go and lay his hand on Saul that he might receive his sight. Ananias brought a complain before God that looked valid to him, ‘Here was a man that afflicted the saints of Jerusalem’. God told Ananias, ‘No debate, go and do what I have told you to do’. You might think the instruction of God is not the best thing to do; your opinion does not matter rather you MUST obey and NOT complain. God told a brother to go and do missions work in another State; he had less than two hundred Naira on him. He did not complain but obeyed. God did a miracle with the two hundred Naira; it feed him, gave him a house and sustained his ministry for over 20 years and still counting. Also, when trusted servant of God gives you an instruction, do not complain rather OBEY.

PRAY IT ∞ Father, give me the grace to always obey you and never complain in Jesus Name.
